Big News and Bigger News

Going...

Going...

Gone!

The kids and I drove over to check it out yesterday only to find one rickety pick-up truck, mounds of dirt, and two men with shovels in the pit. It cracked me up so bad. "We've been here all night!"

We stopped by again tonight. (Homeboys work fast.)

We were able to meet our neighbors. They have three kids, ages 6, 4 and 1. (You can sort of see them up in the corner of the photo.) Language will be a bit of a barrier, but they were so nice. They live in a La Casa new build, too. Hopefully, the street will eventually be lined with them.

It's so exciting to see things finally taking shape.

On the count of three: 1, 2, 3... WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!

In other exciting news, I'm talking about fashion and decorating inspiration for our new home over at one of the most inspiring blogs on the planet, The Lettered Cottage. Check it out! (Mama, click the blue letters and it will take you over there... Love you!)

  16. That image--of the demolition--it pierces me. Makes me stop in my tracks. What He's doing, it's a new and beautiful thing. Just you wait and See. (for you and for me, friend.)

    1. I hear ya. The homes along the street have been abandoned since the early 80's. They were well past a renovation.

  21. Would you believe me if I told you that supper involved brussels & bacon? There's a plate in the fridge for ya.

Also can I say that last photo had me singing How Firm a Foundation? Which made me realize I had no idea how it went after that first line...which led me to googling it...which brought me to tears. (it appears you gave a mouse a cookie) So sweet, all those foundations you're laying. It was very metaphoric...I'm knee deep in nostalgia and sentiment this morning. Even though it's afternoon.

How exciting...watching all this unfold! Blessings, blessings, blessings! :)

  22. Very much enjoyed your guest post on The Lettered Cottage!

You really ARE fearless with the pattern combos! Color me inspired AGAIN.

I loved the use of Layla Palmering ( I think!) as a verb. I read it yesterday, but I do believe you used her name as a verb.

So excited for you and your new home.

I say head on over to Rosetta Stone, brush up on a new language & make some new friends!
