I've Always Wanted to go to Texas, Y'all.

So I'm gonna go ahead and GO. March 28-30, 2014.

It would be awesome if you'd join me!

Hope Spoken is a weekend focused intentionally on story - the way God has written our life to be its own page-turner, its own best-seller. I can't even tell how this idea of  story gets me, the way I find myself thinking so often about my story, my family's story, the story of Robert, the story of you. Because if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that every one of us should be living a life worthy of being bound up and given its own classification in the Library of Congress.

I have to warn you though: I'm not just going to Hope Spoken, I'm speaking! So excited.

I'm pretty pumped to meet some of my favorite people and add a few more to the list. I'm pretty pumped to stay in a hotel for a few days and not argue with my 4-year old at 3 a.m. about whether or not he needs help going potty. (he does.) I'm pretty dang pumped about the possibility of some authentic Tex Mex.

This conference isn't for bloggers, it's for women, like you and me. With any luck, we'll have a lot in common and enough quirks to make things interesting. (That's what makes a party!) It's a time to learn, reflect, worship, share, and belly-laugh. And eat. And yes, there may be a stray tear or two, but only the good kind.

All our Hope, every wild shard, every sparkling beam, is found in Christ and in Him alone. I'm so ready to dive into the deep for a few dreamy days with women who reflect the heart of Truth.

Synchronized diving, anyone?

Get your tickets here.

  9. That is so cool, Shannan. I also love this idea. As I read your words, I think about my chapters, and wonder how the book will end. You'll have to speak in Vegas someday - that's someplace close-ish I can afford to go, and I'd love to meet ya!

  11. Oh, Shannan, SO excited for you! I am all the way in WV so don't think actually going will be feasible, but I will be praying for you! I glanced at some of the other speakers--we cannot listen to enough Matt Chandler and I've read so much about his wife!

So encouraged by how you spread a grace gospel while loving people along the way. Gosh, just so excited for you right now!

  12. Texas is God's country....this big 'ole state has my heart for keeps. We welcome you, and should you find yourself with time to spare, we welcome you to our humble homestead. One day, I hope to visit the Library of Congress and see my story sittin' up there on a shelf. Telling your story is as important as breathing--it brings light and passion to life.

  15. See you in Texas, girlfriend!

No joke. I've been praying about this since I found out about the conference last month...and so I'm going. Eeee! I'm scared. Hold me. Mostly because I'm going alone (my friend bailed on me). But I am so darn excited.

  17. Yay!! You're coming to my stomping grounds. I hope I can make it to the conference! It sounds awesome - and so many adoptive moms - I love that! I'll be the crazy person who admits I've wished I could take you to Chuy's and sit with some chips and salsa and chat about our Made in Korea boys and thrifting and the wild twists in life's journey. Maybe I'll just bring you some as a post-speaking gift.

  22. I would love, love to attend this... I know I was brave to come to CW by myself (or so I think I was), not sure if I could do this alone? Giving this some much needed thought.... A little closer to home than Kansas... :) Oh, and T-Shirt has been ordered and I have to say I was thrilled to find out what it stands for... Have a great week...

  23. Will you be going back to the Influence Conference this year? I'm trying to get there! This one sounds awesome as well. Love your site makeover too. First time I've looked on an actual computer screen in a while so I hadn't seen it!

  24. Oh, wow! What a great time this will be! I wish I could be there for sure. I lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for a little while (and got engaged at the top of the Reunion tower in Dallas, btw)...but I never had one headache there. Their weather/humidity/pollen stuff was made for me. So please be aware you might want to move there. And please, please eat a steak at Saltgrass for me. :)
